Thick Lefse

Thick Lefse

Lefse is one of the more famous Norwegian foods known around the world. Lefse is also quite different depending what town you visit, or even what home recipe you’re tasting. There’s sweet, salty, thin, thick, and lefse made with different basic ingredients like potatoes or flour. Served with lots of different fillings as well. This recipe will show the most basic and popular one. Thick lefse with a lefse butter. It’s the kind my grandmother made. Norwegian lefse is a big part of a Norwegian’s childhood and they’ll eat lefse often until their last breath.

Breakfast for every morning

Lunchtime YES!

Is it dinner soon?

Mozzarella Steak with sauce and spicy potatoes.

Mozzarella Steak with sauce and spicy potatoes.

Mozzarella, basil and tenderloin steak is on my favorite ingredients list. I’ve combined them all into a delicious extra special recipe for someone you would show some extra appreciation. It will take you close to 45 minutes to make and about 3 minutes to eat up!

I’ve added my special steak sauce with brandy and fresh cut basil. Creamed and peppered to combine with the steak, cheese and of course. My very special ChefNorway’s Spicy potatoes. This version of my spicy potato recipe doesn’t include all the spices as normal because the recipe itself contains many supplementing tastes. The flavors should be well balanced and then I hope you will enjoy this recipe as much as I do!

Lamb & Cabbage

Lamb & Cabbage

Truth be told this is a very traditional dish in Norway. It’s like a few of the strange fish traditions where there’s suppose to be served with akvavit. It’s a flavored spirit that is principally produced in Scandinavia, where it has been produced since the 15th century. This to remove the cabbage taste. But then again there’s people who like cabbage!

Norwegian Brown Stew

Norwegian Brown Stew

A delicious brown stew cooked with time and love. Fresh vegetables, roots and spices. The meat is tender and mildly spiced. Something I think everyone in the family will enjoy. Very healthy meal.

Is there any dessert today? please….

Troll Cream

Troll Cream

Troll Cream is no dessert for kids, It’s bitter lingonberry flavor gives it an adult touch. It’s really quick to make, but you might have to check out IKEA to find the lingonberries. Substitute the lingonberry with Blackberry and you’d get a much more “friendly” dessert, and ingredients wont be hard to find. Great dessert if you want to try something different!

Lemon Mousse

Lemon Mousse

Lemon Mousse is always a favorite. It’s a smooth sour sweet dessert. It’s quite a bite and will fill you up, so watch your portioning. If you want it to last longer I suggest eating it with a “salt spoon”.

Is there any cake with my coffee?

Mom’s Spice Cake

Mom’s Spice Cake

StoryI have always loved this cake. It’s moist and has many of interesting flavors that make you want to another piece. It’s served simple, but if you want to give it a little extra, I suggest a little-powdered sugar and...
