Lemon and Lime Mousse

Lemon and Lime Mousse

Great combination of sweet, sour and “sweet-sour” lime taste. A heavy dessert that takes no time to make. I’m sure you would ace this without much trouble. The need of very few ingredients makes it a low cost dish to make! It’s also gluten free.

Norwegian Marble Cake

Norwegian Marble Cake

Simple and delicious cake. The two combinations with chocolate sponge and vanilla sponge makes it great. In primary school classes was this always the first recipe they would start off with. It’s so easy that the least culinary kids would get a good experience out of baking this.

Troll Cream

Troll Cream

Troll Cream is no dessert for kids, It’s bitter lingonberry flavor gives it an adult touch. It’s really quick to make, but you might have to check out IKEA to find the lingonberries. Substitute the lingonberry with Blackberry and you’d get a much more “friendly” dessert, and ingredients wont be hard to find. Great dessert if you want to try something different!

Lamb & Cabbage

Lamb & Cabbage

Truth be told this is a very traditional dish in Norway. It’s like a few of the strange fish traditions where there’s suppose to be served with akvavit. It’s a flavored spirit that is principally produced in Scandinavia, where it has been produced since the 15th century. This to remove the cabbage taste. But then again there’s people who like cabbage!

Norwegian Svele (Lapper)

Norwegian Svele (Lapper)

Svele is a favorite in the south of Norway. I probably ate one every day through Junior High. Fresh it tastes sweet and super delicious. Topping not needed, but with some fresh strawberries it goes on and beyond of deliciousness.

Rum Balls

Rum Balls

Delicious chocolate and rum treat, made out of leftover residue from cakes you’ve made before. A good way to use everything even the left over stuff that normally goes in the trash.
